Social Action at TBE

Temple Beth El of Hollywood stands with those who have suffered as a result of the horrific storms in Kentucky and surrounding areas. The devastation and loss of life are severe reminders of the dangers climate change represents, and how precious is the gift of life. We are collecting donations to present to the American Red Cross relief efforts.

To make a gift please click here and pick the “Disaster Relief” option on the “type” field drop-down menu.

Your donation will make a difference. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.

Paper Towel & Toilet Paper Drive for Holocaust Survivors

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the High Holy Days Food Drive for the Cupboard! In addition to our year-round food drive, Women’s Spirituality Group is now collecting items for Holocaust survivors residing in Broward County, also supported by the Cupboard. The Cupboard provides 1 roll of paper towels and 4 rolls of toilet paper per month to each of our survivors. If you would like to donate items to this drive, please note that the toilet paper packages should contain no more than 4 rolls (or provide individually wrapped rolls). Paper towels must be single wrapped rolls.

Please drop off donations to the Women’s Spirituality Group donation bin at TBE.

A message from the Cupboard:
We are also collecting funds to provide frozen Turkeys for our younger families and prepared thanksgiving meals will be available for all our Holocaust survivors and seniors. Again, heartfelt thanks for everything our Beth El family does for us. We could never do this without you. Chag Sameach!

Cultural Community Liaison, The Cupboard

Our year round Food Drive is always accepting non-perishable donations to be distributed to local food banks and pantries to help nourish our neighbors in need.
Please bring your donations to the temple office. Please wear a mask upon entry into the building.

Have tzedakah boxes and piggy banks collecting dust? Bring your spare change to TBE to donate to the Spechler Family Mitzvah Fund. Please call the Temple office to arrange for drop off.

Want to connect with old friends and make new ones? Want to help make TBE a welcoming community for all of our members? This pandemic has felt isolating for many of us. Pick up a phone to reach out and help connect us all while we're apart.

Contact Sharon Tanenhaus to be connected with a TBE member who would love to hear from you!

If you are grocery shopping, consider buying a few extra items to donate to Jubilee Center (954.920.0106). If you’ve been cleaning out your closets, you can donate your gently used clothing or home items to Broward Outreach Center (954.926.7417).

If you are able to donate blood, there’s no reason not to do it now. OneBlood (the non-profit folks who bring their Big Red Buses to our TBE Blood Drives and supply all our area hospitals) are accepting donations safely (954.378.1188).
