HELP THOSE AFFECTED BY THE COLLAPSE OF CHAMPLAIN TOWERS SOUTH IN SURFSIDE, FL

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation has opened an emergency assistance fund for the short- and long-term needs of those in our community affected by the tragic collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, FL during the early morning hours of Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Federation together with its partners — Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS) and Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support — will be providing financial assistance, chaplaincy support, crisis counseling and social services to people impacted by the tragedy. We will continue to monitor the situation so we can offer ongoing help to those in need.

As always, Federation will absorb all administrative costs so that 100 percent of funds collected will be used to provide assistance to those affected.

Social Action at TBE

Our year round Food Drive is always accepting non-perishable donations to be distributed to local food banks and pantries to help nourish our neighbors in need.
Please bring your donations to the temple office. Please wear a mask upon entry into the building.

 

Have tzedakah boxes and piggy banks collecting dust? Bring your spare change to TBE to donate to the Spechler Family Mitzvah Fund. Please call the Temple office to arrange for drop off.

If you are grocery shopping, consider buying a few extra items to donate to Jubilee Center (954.920.0106). If you’ve been cleaning out your closets, you can donate your gently used clothing or home items to Broward Outreach Center (954.926.7417).

If you are able to donate blood, there’s no reason not to do it now. OneBlood (the non-profit folks who bring their Big Red Buses to our TBE Blood Drives and supply all our area hospitals) are accepting donations safely (954.378.1188).
