Shabbat Renewal Services These spiritual and joyful Saturday morning services generally take place once a month. Gentle yoga exercises, with a Jewish touch, help us clear our minds, balance our bodies, and get us ready to focus on our prayers. Rabbi Allan Tuffs, playing his guitar, and Cantor Manny Silver, with his warm, melodious voice, lead the services. Drums, tambourines, and shakers are available to all who want to join in. Our goal is to unite mind, body, and soul; our worship is on a deeper level and full of joy.
Sometimes these services are held outdoors, adding a symphony of birdsong to our music and prayers. Indoors or out, for these very special services everyone is encouraged to dress casually. A spirited Torah discussion and meditation, led by Rabbi Tuffs, round out these wonderful mornings, after which we share a sumptious lunch with Rabbi and Cantor Manny, to which we have each brought a vegetarian or dairy dish for four. These very popular Saturday Shabbat services leave us with a wonderful feeling of peace and happiness.
The next joyful Shabbat Renewal service at Temple Beth El will be on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 10:00 am. Please make a note of the 2011 dates that will follow: May 21st and June 18th.
