Torah.pcx (4443652 bytes) Temple Beth El opened its doors in 1957 when its first service was held in a meeting room of the Hollywood Beach Hotel. At that time, the congregation boasted approximately 2 dozen families, all of whom had a vision ... a traditional reform synagogue in the heart of Hollywood. Through the generosity and dedication of several of these families, Temple Beth El became a reality and grew into a focal point of Reform Judaism in southern Broward County.

Today, the temple continues to grow and remains a vital force in the Hollywood Jewish Community. Serving 450 families, Temple Beth El bridges the generations, blending the best of two worlds as the young join with the old to create an atmosphere of warmth and caring.

The temple serves families and individuals, providing:

  • Sabbath, Holiday, and Life Cycle Spiritual Worship Services
  • Meditation Services
  • Renewal Services
  • Full library
  • Preschool for children ages 2 to 5, (maintaining small class sizes to provide individual nurturing)
  • Adult Education
  • Community Service
  • Sisterhood is an active organization in the Temple with ongoing programs to pique the interest of most everyone regardless of age.
  • Religious School for kindergarten-twelfth graders, on Sundays and Wednesdays.  An interactive curriculum includes B'nai Mitzvah preparation and Confirmation classes, plus family involvement opportunities.

Temple Beth El is not just a place to worship; it is a place to learn, to share, to grow. We look forward welcoming new members to our Temple family and hope that your affiliation will nourish your spirit and bring you peace and fulfillment.
