YOUTH ACTIVITIES
DEPARTMENT (YAD)
AT TEMPLE BETH EL
Welcome to what promises
to be an exciting year in the Youth Activities Department (YAD) of Temple
Beth El! My name is Megan LaGala and I have been hired as the Youth
Activities Coordinator. I grew up in South Florida as an active member of
my Temple Youth Group and as member of NFTY’s Regional Board. I have taught
Hebrew school for five years, and I was Senior Staff as Director of
Religious and Cultural Activities at Camp Shalom in Central Florida for
three years. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your
children and plant some roots in a congregation that has already made me
feel so welcome!
The Youth Activities
Department (YAD) has been designed to allow your children the opportunity to
actively take on leadership roles, while socializing with their friends and
making new ones in a fun and safe environment at their second home here at
Temple Beth El. Betsy Sherman and I have been working around the clock all
summer to develop a program to entice every age group! HEFTY is for grade
9-12, Jr. HEFTY is for grades 6-8, and Chaverim is for grades 3-5. In
addition, After School Programs and our Youth Choir, Shir Chadash,
will be back and better than ever this year! Sign your child up today!
WATCH YOUR MAILBOX
A handbook with
registration forms and a calendar with a comprehensive listing of all the
programs offered through our Youth Activities Department (YAD) will be
mailed to you in September. Keep an eye on your mailbox for the Youth
Activities Department (YAD) mailing! If you have any questions please don’t
hesitate to call or come into the school office.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The Youth Activities
Department (YAD) will thrive with the assistance of our devoted parents! We
are asking for your help to drive to events, assist with the
responsibilities of setting up and breaking down fundraisers, and
chaperoning several day trips. Put your talents to use in the Youth
Activities Department (YAD) and be an active participant in your child’s
life. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity or know of
someone who would like to make a donation, please fill out the Youth
Activities Department (YAD) Volunteer Form located in the school office, or
call Megan at 561-445-2844.
